Larissa Born is a research associate at the Institute for Textile and Fiber Technologies (ITFT) at the University of Stuttgart. She is currently focusing on research projects addressing the challenge of bendable fiber-reinforced composites with locally integrated hinges and actuators for adaptive, movable systems. Her work within this research field has already been awarded with the Techtextil Innovation Award (2011), the AVK Innovation Award (3rd ranked 2017) and the MATERIALICA Award (2nd ranked 2018) for the bio-inspired façade shading systems flectofin®, Flectofold and Flexafold.
