Biological Design and Integrative Structures – Analysis, Simulation and Implementation in Architecture

Analysis and abstraction of design principles in nature and their implementation in architecture

The Collaborative Research Center TRR 141 "Biological Design and Integrative Structures", funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), enables an interdisciplinary team to examine the design principles in specific biological case studies. The knowledge obtained through analysis as well as simulation and in an abstracted manner transferred to technical implementations for new biomimetic structures.
